TANKING!
Well, I have been playing a caster for sometime now and i recently got my pally to 80 and got him a decent tanking set f0r heroics. I am quite proud of my 23k HP unbuffed. Just wanted to drop in and shout out what i have been doing lately.

So as you guys can tell I haven’t posted in over a month.
A lot of that has to do with the lack of new and exciting going on in WoW. I raid all the content available on all my level 80’s. Well not my Pally but i just hit 80 on him on Thursday. I am just running out of fun and challenging things to do in this game.

ALTS!
So I transfered my Pally to Stonemaul so that I could level with a buddy from work who rolled a DK on my server. That gives me plenty of toons but not enough drive or time to play them all.
I have my druid and my mage who are both 80 now. My warrior who is still 70, My pally who is 67, My lock who is 59 and my DK who is 58.
I am determined not to level another alt till all my toons are level 80, but I don’t want to go through the grind of leveling from 70-80 the xp is such a kick in the nuts.
So with so many alts and not enough time how do you fit in all your alts or getting all the things that you want to get done in the game done?

So I found out last night that a large group of people that I have come to enjoy playing this game with are going to be letting thier accounts expire. They aren’t necisarrily going to be canceling thier accounts or deleting thier toons. They are just not going to renewing thier accounts for a few months.
Normally this isn’t a big deal really, but this is about 4 or 5 guys that I have grown to truely enjoy playing this game with. Now I don’t talk alot about the guild I am in, but we are a very small guild. We haven’t always been a small guild. We are a group of people who had been distilled down from a previous guild that was full of bads. So now we have probably 5 or 6 players who want to raid but now we don’t have the people to even run 10 man instances.
Now for my dilema. I play this game alot for the social aspect. On my days off there are maybe 1-2 other players on in my guild through out the day. Now in the evenings we ususally have 10+ people online most of us are raiding together or doing something together. Now, that aspect of this guild is falling apart and in turn the raiding aspect of the guild is going to fall unless something amazing happens.
Should I app to another guild, be bottom of the totem pole for loot and the outsider? I am a decent boomkin but I am not fantastic I could still use alot of gear and alot more practice raiding boomkin.
Do I stick it out with the members of my guild that are still here since I appreciate and enjoy spending time with them?

So I have recently tasted the crack that Blizzard has infused into this game. Achievements are borderline evil. Mainly because once you get one you think that isn’t bad lets try to get another one. I mean come on everyone loves to hear that ding noise and have it announced to the world and the guild that you have achieved something.
It has been so addicting that I have leveled fishing and cooking past 375, I am going back and trying to find quests in outlands so i can get my lore master and explorer achievements out of the way. I am findind that there are often 1 or two quests in each zone that are nigh imposible to find. I have 2 left in Nagrand and i can’t find them! Not only am I doing quests and exploring, but I am finding that my instance groups are sitting through wipe after wipe trying to get an achievement.
Anyone else taken by this madness?

So I don’t know how many of you guys have heard about this little glitch or bug in the game. There was a group of 5 people, 1 Discipline priest, 2 Restoration druids, 1 Marksman hunter and 1 Honor Among Thieves rogue on the Stonemaul Server that 5 manned Regular Sartharion.
Yes you heard me right.
3 healers and 2 DPS.
How this was done you might ask? Well, it was a nifty way in which the lava around Sartharion was classified and the way that reflective shield worked. So the lava around Sartharion was classified as fire damage caused by Sartharion. Reflective Shield returns 45% of the damage absorbed is reflected to caster and causes no threat. So with the priest in the lava the druids innervating and the hunter and the rogue in there for some online poker for entertainment these 5 were able to kill Sartharion with 3 drakes up, it only took 5.5 hrs and about 1 case of Mt. Dew and 30 hands of poker.
They have the achievement, the only thing they failed to do was let the drakes land so that they could get the mount.
For those who are wanting to try this now. Approximately 23 minutes after this group completed the achievement Blizzard hotfixed the bug. The lava is now classified as an environmental damage.

So I know that this has been covered in extreme all over the place, but I have to get this off my chest. This expansion so far has been exciting, boring and full of time.
Just a brief run down of things I have done since this expac:
- Leveled to 80
- Leveled several alts to 75
- Leveled all of my professions past 400
- Actually started to level my cooking and my fishing.
- Raided all of the released content.
- Started to PvP and realized that DK’s are too OP in arena’s and have quit PvP until further notice
- Completed all the quests in Northrend (except all those damn group quests in Icecrown!)
- Leveled my Weapon skills and my unarmed on my druid to 400
That is just a few of the things that I have done off of the top of my head while i am at work. Now i know you guys might think wait that is a short list, and you will be correct. There is just so much that i could do that just doesn’t apeal to me. I mean yeah I can go explore the world and get the explorer achievment. I could go back and do all the quests from vanilla wow and BC and get my loremaster achievement. I could grind up all my factions upto exalted. I could start to PvP again and work on getting honor kills and get my arena ratings better. I just don’t want to.
I think I just discovered why this expansion is so blah. They have tried to make this game viable for everyone and give everyone something to do. The problem is that there is a little here and a little there that I enjoy doing but, the majority of everything is pure bollux as far as far as filling time.

Ok so it has been almost a full month since I posted last. I am horrible I know. Blame it on wow, blame it on the holidays, blame it on getting sick.
New years resolution:
Post more frequently on my blog.

So we are quickly approaching the holiday season. This season is one of those that can make or break a guild. The other season with this power is the Summer. Raiding comes to a standstill. BUT I LOVE THIS SEASON.
Not because I love the holidays. Hell, my wife calls me a Grinch. It isn’t that I don’t care about the festivities I enjoy spending time with my family. I just don’t like the constant bombardment of this commercialized sence of what is right for the holidays. I spend the day with my family and the evening sleeping or wowing off.
I sidetracked myself.
Why the holidays are great for wow. Here is my thinking.
- Free to farm to my hearts content. I can farm enough mats and gold to not have to worry about raiding till spring break.
- The low prices on the AH means I can buy items low and then horde till all the new kiddies get new wow accounts for Christmas. Then sell at a horrible markup and make millions.
- Trade Chat will be for merely trade or at least some drastic reduction in the amount of spam and nonsense that goes on it now.
- My favorite thing about the holiday season is the ability to get rid of those annoying members in your guild.
That last one is probably my favorite. Now is the time to be looking for a new guild or a new guildy. People who want to make a change, look for guilds that are trying to PUG an instance or a Raid and if you do well and you like the people you run with ask if they are looking for new members in particular your chosen class to play.
Worst case scenario: They say they aren’t recruiting but hey you just got some gear (hopefully) and some badges
Best Case scenario: You got all the drops you wanted, AND you got a new guild
The reason that this is a great time to do it is because we are about 2 weeks to a new year. New year and a new guild what a great time to start the next chapter of your WoW addiction!

So this expansion is a black hole. Once it has you in its gravitational pull it is very difficult, if not impossible, to pull away. Everything has been put on hold it seems.
I have gotten to the point that I have actually started forcing myself to do other activities that I usually don’t. I have started reading a few Series that I haven’t read in some time. I have started uploading thousands of files to my Zune. All of these are things that I am forcing myself to do just to maintain a semblance of my life before Nov. 13th.
What are you doing to keep a sense of your former life?
